Chez jolie coiffure

Rosine Mbakam

Sabine's migratory journey begins in Cameroon in recruitment agencies for housekeepers in Lebanon. Sabine stays in Lebanon where she is reduced to virtual slavery. She leaves Lebanon for Belgium. She arrives in the Matongé district of Brussels where she manages a hair salon while waiting for her situation to regularize. In this 8m2 salon, Sabine and the other hairdressers organize themselves and help each other to cope with clandestinity. They work 13 to 14 hours a day under the threat of the patrolling police and the gaze of tourists of all ages who look at them and photograph them like objects in a window.
